First Generation Student Support

If you're the first in your family to go to college, or your parents did not graduate from college, you are considered a first-generation student. The University of St. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ is proud that many first-generation students have chosen to attend our institution.

Proud To Be First

Proud To Be First is a voluntary and free program for students who identify as first-generation. St. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ defines first-generation as a student whose parent/guardian did not receive a 4-year degree in the United States. We have fun and informative events throughout the year and we’d love to see you there.

First-Gen Forward

Proud To Be First is one of the programs that helped St. ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½ be recognized as a First-Gen Forward institution through NASPA. This designation recognizes institutions of higher education who have demonstrated a commitment to improving experiences and advancing outcomes for first-generation college students.
